Our Vision
Supporting Mental Wellbeing in Our Community
Our vision is simple but ambitious. We want to create communities where people feel connected, supported and able to access help when they need it. We believe that positive mental wellbeing is strengthened through meaningful relationships, welcoming spaces and opportunities to participate fully in community life.
What Our Vision Means
Mental wellbeing is about more than accessing support during difficult times. It is about having opportunities to connect with others, build confidence, develop purpose and feel part of a community.
Through peer support, community activities, partnerships and advocacy, we work towards a future where everyone can access the support, understanding and opportunities they need to live well.
We believe nobody should have to face mental health challenges alone.
Our Mission
Turning Our Vision Into Action
Our mission sets out how we work towards our vision every day. Through safe spaces, lived experience and partnership working, we aim to create opportunities for people to connect, recover, grow and thrive within their communities.
Safe Spaces
We provide a safe space that promotes social interaction and support networks to aid the prevention, recovery and management of mental health difficulties.
Lived Experience
We actively promote and represent the views of people with lived experience, helping to positively influence services and support for individuals, families, friends and carers.
Partnership Working
We work in partnership with organisations and agencies to achieve better outcomes and ensure people can access the support that is right for them.
Everything we do is built around connection, community and the belief that people are stronger when they feel supported, valued and understood.
Our Values
The Principles That Guide Everything We Do
Our values shape how we work with the people who access our services, our volunteers, staff, trustees, partners and the wider community. They guide our decisions, influence our culture and help ensure that TASFund remains a welcoming and supportive place for everyone.
Dignity
We treat every person with respect, recognising their worth, individuality and experiences. We believe everyone deserves to be listened to, valued and treated with dignity.
Compassion
We approach people with kindness, empathy and understanding. We recognise that everyone faces different challenges and strive to create an environment where people feel supported and accepted.
Empowerment
We encourage people to build confidence, develop skills and make informed choices. We believe in supporting individuals to identify their strengths and achieve positive outcomes.
Inclusivity
We are committed to making our charity accessible and welcoming to all. We value diversity, encourage participation and ensure that people’s voices help shape the future of our organisation.
Our values are more than words on a page. They influence how we deliver support, how we work together and how we create a community where people feel respected, valued and able to thrive.
Our Values In Practice
Bringing Our Values To Life Every Day
Our values influence the decisions we make, the way we support people and the culture we strive to create. They are reflected in everyday actions, interactions and opportunities throughout The Anthony Seddon Fund.
We Listen
We value the experiences, opinions and ideas of the people who access our services, helping to ensure their voices shape the support we provide.
We Welcome
We aim to create an environment where people feel accepted, respected and able to participate regardless of their background or circumstances.
We Support
We offer encouragement, understanding and practical opportunities that help people build confidence, resilience and wellbeing.
We Collaborate
We work alongside local organisations, services and communities to create stronger support networks and better outcomes.
We Advocate
We champion the voices of people with lived experience and seek to influence positive change in mental health services and communities.
We Learn
We continuously reflect, listen and develop so that we can improve our services and respond to the changing needs of our community.
These values are reflected not only in what we do, but in how we do it; creating a welcoming, supportive and community-led organisation where people feel able to belong, contribute and grow.
Our Approach To Wellbeing
The Five Ways To Wellbeing
The Five Ways to Wellbeing help shape many of our groups, activities and support offers. They focus on simple everyday actions that can support positive mental wellbeing and strengthen connections with ourselves, others and our communities.
Connect
Build relationships and feel part of a supportive community.
Be Active
Take part in activities that support physical and mental wellbeing.
Give
Share kindness, support and your time with others.
Take Notice
Pause, reflect and notice what supports your wellbeing.
Keep Learning
Try new things, build skills and develop confidence.
We use the Five Ways to Wellbeing to create opportunities for connection, participation, confidence and hope across everything we do.
Recovery & Wellbeing
The CHIME Framework
CHIME helps us think about recovery in a broad and person-centred way. It reminds us that mental health support is not only about managing difficulties; it is also about connection, hope, identity, meaning and empowerment.
Connectedness
Building relationships, peer support and a sense of belonging.
Hope
Creating space for optimism, confidence and the possibility of change.
Identity
Supporting people to feel valued beyond their diagnosis or difficulties.
Meaning
Helping people find purpose, routine and things that matter to them.
Empowerment
Supporting choice, confidence and people having a voice in their own recovery.
The CHIME framework helps us keep recovery personal, hopeful and rooted in the things that help people live well in their own communities.
Looking Ahead
Building a Future Where Nobody Faces Mental Health Challenges Alone
Our vision, mission and values guide everything we do; from the support we provide today to our ambitions for the future. We remain committed to creating welcoming spaces, amplifying lived experience and supporting positive mental wellbeing throughout our community.
