A welcoming space to connect, create and feel supported

Our groups and activities are designed to support mental wellbeing through peer support, creativity, social connection and shared experiences. Whether you are looking for support, friendship, routine or simply something positive to be part of, you are welcome at The Anthony Seddon Centre.

Who Can Attend?

Most of our groups and activities are open to adults aged 18+ who are looking to support their mental health and wellbeing.

What to Expect

You can expect a friendly, informal and supportive environment, with staff and volunteers available to help you feel comfortable.

Do I Need to Book?

Pre-booking is recommended for activities because of room capacity. Drop-In support does not need to be booked.

We offer a varied programme of groups and activities, from peer support and creative sessions to wellbeing activities, social groups and support for families, carers and people affected by bereavement.

Peer Support Groups

Supportive spaces to talk, listen, connect and share experiences with others who understand.

Examples include Drop-In, Men’s Peer Support, Women’s Peer Support and Hearing Voices Group.

Supportive groups for people caring for, supporting or walking alongside someone experiencing mental health difficulties.

Examples include Shared Ground, Parents’ Peer Support, Guardian Angels and Family, Friends & Carers Support.

We know it can feel daunting to come somewhere new, especially if you are struggling with your mental health. Our team and volunteers will do their best to help you feel welcome, comfortable and supported.

Contact our friendly Reception team if you would like to ask about an activity, check availability or talk through what might feel right for you.

Choose an Activity

You can choose something creative, social, relaxing or supportive. Some activities have limited spaces, so booking is recommended where possible.

Come Along

Attend at your own pace. You do not have to join in with everything straight away; we will help you settle in and feel comfortable.

Questions about groups and activities

Here are some common questions people ask before coming along. Click each question to view the answer.

Do I need a referral?

No formal referral is needed for most groups and activities. You can contact Reception or speak to a member of the team to find out what is available.

Do I need to book?

Pre-booking is recommended for activities because of room capacities. Drop-In support does not need to be booked.

Is there a cost?

Some activities have a small contribution charge, usually £1 or £2. We never want cost to be a barrier, so please speak to us if this is a concern.

What if I feel nervous?

Feeling nervous is completely understandable. Our team and volunteers will help you feel welcome, and you can take things at your own pace.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes, you can bring someone with you if that helps you feel more comfortable. Please let Reception know if you have any questions about this.

How do I find out about changes?

Activities can occasionally change at short notice. Updates are usually shared through our website, social media, noticeboards and activity programme mailing list.
