Baton of Hope Tameside – Get Involved
Be part of something extraordinary as the Baton of Hope arrives in Tameside. Whether you want to walk as a Baton Bearer, volunteer to support the event, or help spread the word, your contribution will make a real difference. Together, we can inspire hope, foster lifesaving conversations, and create a community united in the fight against suicide.

Be a Baton Bearer
Becoming a Baton Bearer is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the Baton of Hope’s journey through Tameside. Baton Bearers are individuals with inspiring stories of hope, resilience, or lived experience who carry the Baton as part of its tour.
Applications to become a Baton Bearer must be made directly through the Baton of Hope website. There is a £20 application charge to support the Baton of Hope initiative. However, this fee is not mandatory for those who may face financial difficulties.
If you’d like to represent Tameside and share your story, apply here.
Volunteer on the Day
Volunteers are the backbone of the Baton of Hope’s journey, and we need your help to make the Tameside leg a success. Whether you’re greeting Baton Bearers, hosting information stalls, walking the route to support Baton Bearers, or providing peer support for what will be an emotional day, there are plenty of ways to get involved.
We’re also looking for general helpers to assist with various tasks throughout the day. It will be a long and busy event, so the more hands on deck, the better! No matter your skills or availability, your support will make a meaningful difference.
