Key Stops Along the Route
Each stop along the Baton of Hope route has been carefully chosen to reflect local significance, community involvement, and the shared commitment to suicide prevention and mental wellbeing.
- The Anthony Seddon Centre – Hosts of the Baton in Tameside. A user-led mental health peer support charity created in memory of Anthony Seddon, who died by suicide in 2013.
- Pennine Care Headquarters – Home to the NHS Trust leading mental health services in Tameside and driving forward local suicide prevention efforts.
- Portland Basin Museum – A symbol of local heritage and connection, representing the importance of community history in building hope for the future.
- Oxford Park via Canal – A peaceful, scenic stretch of the route linking communities together through accessible green space.
